ORIGAMI CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT
12/17/2020
Origami usually makes me think "Oh, I can't do that." But guess what? I can actually make this fold and I know you can too. It's so rewarding to see the paper turn into a beautiful Christmas tree! Last year I saw Tina Zinck's tutorial (on how to make an origami Christmas Tree card). Wow - they are so simple, but beautiful! You can find Tina's video tutorial on YouTube (Tina Zinck, the Serene Stamper).
This week I decided to make some tree ornaments using the Plush Poinsettia Specialty paper, which is a vellum. It is a little stiffer to fold, but it works, and actually gives extra body to the tree.
Here's one I made using the Red Foil for the background the tree is attached to. The background is die cut with one of the dies from the Ornate Layers Dies.
This one I made with the Balmy Blue Glitter paper for the background:
The stars at the top of each tree are die cut using one of the small Stitched Stars dies.
I'm not sure which one I like better! How about you?
