December 2020

There's an adorable new stamp set coming in the new Sale-A-Bration catalog, and its called Darling Donkeys.  It's soooo cute!  It's also FREE with a $50.00 order from the Annual Catalog or the January-June Mini Catalog.

The card I'm featuring today is a "Goodbye 2020!" and I used the Darling Donkeys stamp set.

Origami usually makes me think "Oh, I can't do that." But guess what? I can actually make this fold and I know you can too.  It's so rewarding to see the paper turn into a beautiful Christmas tree!  Last year I saw Tina Zinck's tutorial (on how to make an origami Christmas Tree card).  Wow - they are so simple, but beautiful!  You can find Tina's video tutorial on YouTube (Tina Zinck, the Serene Stamper).

This week I decided to make some tree ornaments using the Plush Poinsettia Specialty paper, which is a vellum.  It is a little stiffer to fold, but it works, and actually gives extra body to the tree.

Here's one I made using the Red Foil for the background the tree is attached to.  The background is die cut with one of the dies from the Ornate Layers Dies.

This one I made with the Balmy Blue Glitter paper for the background:

The stars at the top of each tree are die cut using one of the small Stitched Stars dies.

I'm not sure which one I like better!  How about you?

Stampin' Up! has a sweet die set that makes an adorable treat holder. In fact the name of it is "Little Treat Box Dies" and it's on sale right now!

Little treat box dies

This set has dies in it for Halloween and Christmas.

The treat I designed a box for is a Ghiradelli milk chocolate snowman - yum!  Here's a picture of the box:

After I made the box, I used the Winter Snow Embossing Folder to make the sweet snowflake design on the front.

The little window on the front is die cut with the tag die from Tasteful Labels Dies.
