FEATURED RETIRING STAMP SET "LET IT RIDE" AND NEW TECHNIQUE

I've always loved horses, and I love the "Let it Ride" stamp set that features images of wild and beautiful horses!

I'm going to show you how to use Stampin' Blends to color in the awesome horse.  But this isn't just coloring on card stock.  This is stamping and coloring on window sheet acetate, and the technique has been called Faux Stained Glass technique.  The image is stamped on the window sheet, and then colored in on the back side. Staz On ink is the ink of choice to stamp on window sheet because it is more permanent.

Credit goes to Robin at mypinkstamper.com. She created a beautiful card using this technique with a different stamp set, which is where I got the idea.

Here's the card I created:

Let it Ride on window sheet2

Here's how the beauty starts:

CARD STOCK::   Card stock base - Soft Suede, 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"; Very Vanilla (2) pieces (one for the front mat and one for the inside), 5 1/4 x 4", Crumb Cake for frame, 5 x 3 3/4"; window sheet, 3 x 4 1/2"

STAMP SET: Let it Ride

INK: Staz On; Mossy Meadow; Stampin' Blends, Dark Mossy Meadow, Dark Crumb Cake, Dark Basic Black.

EMBELLISHMENTS: Designer Elements

TOOLS: Tear 'n Tape, Foam Adhesive strips, multipurpose liquid glue, Take a Pic Tool, Stitched Rectangle Dies, silicone sheet.

DIRECTIONS:

Stamp the horse on the window sheet. Set it aside to dry for about 20 minutes. After it's dry, place it upside down and color in on the back side of the window sheet. Color the horse with Dark Crumb Cake.  Color the horse hooves in with Dark Basic Black. Color around the grass with Mossy Meadow.  Set it aside to dry (about 10 minutes).

Stamp the trees on the Very Vanilla piece of card stock for the front, using Mossy Meadow.  Check the placement in relationship to the frame before stamping.

Stamp the trees on the inside piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

Die cut the center out of the 5 x 3 3/4" piece of Crumb Cake with the 4th largest Stitched Rectangle Die.

Place Tear n Tape around the back of the frame and adhere over the stamped window sheet, framing the horse. Add foam strips around the back of this and layer onto Very Vanilla mat for the front.

Adhere Designer Elements to the front.

Adhere the inside Very Vanilla piece to the inside.

Enjoy!!
